It’s almost that time of year again for the 2017 FR&L Show and the ACF/CFC Culinary Arts competition. The show is this September 10 -12 at the Orange County Convention Center.
There are some very exciting changes with this year’s show. I would encourage you all to go to our chapter website and inspect all the competition categories: http://www.acfcfc.com/events/acf-culinary-arts-competition/ The various Culinary Arts Competitions are available in a drop-down box format.
There are two ways competitors can win these new competition categories. First, we will have local restaurant chefs and celebrities as the panel of Judges. The second way you can win is that there will be a “People’s Choice” judging category as well. Everyone who has an entry to the Daily Tasting competition will have one vote.
So here is the challenge to all chapter member – Compete!
If you have never competed before, then now is the time to start. Test your creative juices and flavor mojo by competing in one of the new open tasting categories. The competition will supply the burners, 20 qt. pots and griddles for the grilled cheese. We want a full field of competitors and the entry fee is only $25. The prizes are 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $250 and 3rd Place is $100.
The FR&L membership will also be entering these competitions which will bring a new dimension to our show. Any questions please direct them to Joe Hardiman, ACF/CFC Culinary Arts Competition Chair at firstname.lastname@example.org
We will need lots of volunteers to help make this event a success. Look for more information on how to volunteer your time in an upcoming newsletter.
Have a great summer, and see you at the competition!
