NEW Frozen & Specialty Dessert Training Classes

pregel-yogurtPreGel America, an innovative international company that sells first class ingredients to make authentic Italian gelato, is excited to announce the opening of their new Training Center in Fort Lauderdale, next month. They will be teaching a variety of classes, including the Fundamentals of Gelato, Pastry Essentials, Macarons and Sweet Confections. The classes focus on the basic principles of gelato making and pastry in general. These courses are approved by the ACF for continuing education hours, and they will be taught in English and in Spanish. For the second year in a row, the ACF Central Florida Chapter will help sponsor this ACF-sanctioned event. National Nutrition Month

In honor of National Nutrition Month, the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County is continuing their Celebrity Readers program to include “celebrity” chefs. They have asked us to reach out to our friends in the culinary community to spread the word to gain commitments from you and your colleagues to take an hour out of your busy days to read a book to 4-year olds in their VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) class during the month of March. The actual visit and reading shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes. For more information about potential sites and schedules, please contact Jerry Brady, ELCOC Volunteer Coordinator at jbrady@elcoc.org or call 407-841-6607 x 147. Jerry will be able to work out a time and place that will be easy for you to work into your day. Thank you for taking the time to consider this request (and opportunity). The March meeting event will also feature the first New Member Induction Ceremony of 2016. All new members in attendance that night will be inducted.
