In preparation for the upcoming ballot email, we have a 3-Part series of email newsletters introducing you to all of the candidates for the 2016-17 Board of Directors and all of the nominees for the 2015 Chef of the Year Award.
In this part, we introduce you to the candidates for Treasurer, Secretary and Sergeant at Arms. Although these candidates are running unopposed, they each have a brief message for you.
For Treasurer – Joseph Hardiman, HAAC
Ladies and gentlemen the of the Central Florida ACF Chapter. I am running for the position of Treasurer. My academic qualifications are a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting and a MBA. My career is varied but it is generally all about restaurants, hotels and the post-secondary education required to be successful in the hospitality / culinary arts industry. For the last year and a half I was the Associate Vice Chancellor for Culinary Arts with Keiser University and before that I was the President of Le Cordon Bleu Orlando for ten years. I worked for the Walt Disney World Resort for approximately 22 years. I have been the general manager of a Adirondack hotel and an Associate Professor with Paul Smith’ College. The ACF has been an important relationship to me over the many years and now that I have more time to give I want to assist the local chapter. VOTE FOR ME!!!
For Secretary – Lauren Cooke, CEPC, CEC
I have been Secretary for two years and I have learned that it is a big responsibility. I would like to continue as Secretary for another term because I want to be part of the Board and be more involved in the Central Florida Chapter.
For Sergeant at Arms – Luis Reyes
Chefs and Friends: I would like to thank everyone for the opportunity to serve as the Sergeant at Arms to cover the temporary vacancy. I feel honored for the recent nomination and as the elections approach I look forward to the opportunity to serve the board, chapter and its members for the term. I served as the Sergeant at Arms for over 3 years as a member of the ACF Palm Beach Chapter before moving to the Central Florida where I joined the local Chapter and have been a member for the past nine years. By electing me, you will give me the opportunity to bring to the table all resources available to me to help ensure the continued success of our Chapter.
A Reminder: The ballots will go to the email address you have on file with the national ACF office. Please keep an eye out for that ballot and please vote. This is your chapter and every vote counts.
