Hello Chefs!

CHAPTER ELECTIONS – VOTING BEGINS

In a few days, ballots will be emailed to all of the current members of the ACF Central Florida Chapter for voting in your 2016-17 Board of Directors and the 2015 Chef of the Year.
The Board of Director candidates are:
For President
• Roger Newell, CEC, CCE, CCA, AAC
For Vice President
• Richard Cote, CEC
• Peter Vossenberg, CEC, CCE
For Treasurer
• Joseph Hardiman, HAAC
For Secretary
• Lauren Cooke, CEPC, CEC
For Sergeant at Arms
• Luis Reyes
The Chef of the Year nominees are:
• Lauren Cooke, CEPC, CEC
• Christian Markussen, CEC, CCE
• Michael Schnitzer, CEC
The ballots will go to the email address you have on file with the national ACF office. Please keep an eye out for that ballot and please vote. This is your chapter and every vote counts.

 

CHRISTMAS PARTY RSVP REMINDER

The ACF/CFC Christmas Party is for members and their immediate family or 1 guest only.

Location: This year, it’s “A Tropical Christmas” at Red Coconut Club in CityWalk, Universal Orlando. Parking at Universal is free after 6:00 pm (with a valid Florida Drivers License).
Date: Sunday, December 13th, 2015
Time: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

AND EVEN MORE HUGE Congratulations…to Jillian Deriso! She will also be representing our chapter as a semi-finalist for the 2016 ACF Southeast Region Student Chef of the Year! Congratulations and good luck in Atlanta, Jillian! We will be there to cheer you on!

 

YMCA DEMO CHEFS WANTED

Gary Appelsies, Director of Healthy Eating, Central Florida YMCA, is seeking Chefs to do cooking demos at the Roper YMCA, 100 Windermere Rd, Winter Garden, FL 34787  for various dates next month. Details:

  • Chefs are responsible for bringing all the ingredients and their own tools. YMCA has 2 induction burners, a small toaster oven, and limited pots and pans.
  • Food to demo does not need to be something holiday related but preferred.
  • Samples are preferred, generally for 20-50 people (the average attendance for demos).
  • This is a great opportunity for Chefs to market themselves and their businesses to the YMCA community.
  • Over two dozen available time slots from Dec 8th thru Dec 30th.

VENDOR SHOW – CHEF HELP WANTED

Planning is in the works for the 2016 Cheney Brothers Ocala Division Buying Show which will be held at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando on January 5th. They need chefs to work from 7 am to 5 pm and in clean chef attire (solid colors). Pay for the day is $250 with a W9 form completed. If you are interested in working this show, please contact:
