Hello Chefs, Culinarians & Colleagues!
Here’s a few things going on in the chapter this month…
New Way to Track Your Volunteer Hours:
The ACF Central Florida Chapter has a new digital way to post and manage volunteer shifts needed for chapter events. This is also an easy and effective way for you to track your volunteer hours needed for school, certification, membership dues, etc. Click here (https://www.volunteermark.com/acf/april-6th-chapter-meeting) to view us on VolunteerMark and please register today. We are currently in need of 7 more volunteers to assist with the April 6th chapter meeting event at Sysco.
New Member Program Changes:
Membership in the ACF Central Florida Chapter shows commitment to professionalism and to continued education. In January 2013, chapter sponsorship funds were set aside to add a temporary bonus to our new member welcome kit: a professional chef coat embroidered with the new member’s name. Record-breaking membership drives during the past two years have claimed all of these funds. But while the “chef coat bonus” has come to an end, we continue to be dedicated to making everyone feel welcomed to our chapter. The next induction ceremony for new members will be during the April general meeting event. Visit our Events Calendar online for more details. For all members, remember to take full advantage of all that your ACF membership has to offer and stay involved.
Save the Date:
The nation’s first ACF Chefs sanctioned Green, Sustainable, and Local Food Cooking competition has been scheduled for Friday, April 24th between 5:30-7:30 pm at the Artisan Alley Garage during the Farmers Market In The Artisan Alley Deland. Four professional culinarians will use ingredients from the market and primary proteins from within 100 miles of the market to be judged by an ACF Certified judge. The event is hosted by Cress Restaurant with support from Conrad Realty & the NEST. It is going to be an exciting competition! For more details, please follow our event on Facebook.
Have a great month and see you at the next chapter event!
