Hello Chefs!

It might have been “summer break”, but the ACF/CFC had a lot going on this summer. Here are a few highlights…

Our Field Trip to ACF National Office:

In July, almost 40 people (ACF/CFC members and a group of students from Second Harvest Food Bank) joined in a field trip to tour the ACF National Office and to attend the US Foods “Food Fanatics” summer vendor show in St. Augustine, Florida. ACF National Convention: 

The ACF Central Florida Chapter was well represented at this year’s ACF National Convention in Kansas City, MO. We posted images and news live on Facebook throughout the convention – including Roger Newell’s impromptu interview on the trade show floor. (Click here for more event photos.) A quick congratulations here to Michael Rigberg, CEC, CCA, AAC, chef instructor/executive chef and a member of the nearby ACF Tampa Bay chapter, for his induction into the American Academy of Chefs.

Congratulations to Chef Roy Briggs:

Roy Briggs, co-owner of Food Manager Testing LLC, was selected as CFHLA’s Allied Member of the Month for July 2014 in recognition of his prior participation and commitment to the goals and objectives of that association.

Congratulations, Roy. We are very proud to have you as a part of the ACF/CFC!
