Greetings Chefs, Culinarians, and Colleagues,
I hope that everyone is staying cool and enjoying their summer. Some of you may have already had the opportunity to light up your grills and do a cookout, soaking in some Florida sunshine. It’s hard to believe that the kids have to return to school in a couple of weeks.

As many of you are aware, the ACF National Convention took place in Las Vegas from July 21st through 25th at the gorgeous Cosmopolitan Hotel.  More than 1,500 ACF members nationwide attended this year. The convention was packed with networking opportunities, competitions, educational seminars, and workshops. Featured demonstrations included various baking and pastry topics, children’s nutrition, and trends & techniques. The 2013-2015 national officers were installed and started their term during the convention.

On behalf of the Chapter, I want to sincerely congratulate members of our Chapter for receiving awards during the convention. With these awards, our Chapter continues to have a strong presence as one of the best in the nation:

As a reminder, our next Chapter meeting will be on Monday, September 9th at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts starting at 6:30pm. We will be opening up the floor for nominations for the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant of Arms. Also, the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association Show and Culinary Arts Competition takes place this September 22nd through 24th at the Orange County Convention Center.
