Well, the summer season is slowly coming to a close and the children are back in school. I have enjoyed my summer travels and it’s time to focus on the upcoming season and the remainder of the year.

Please give a warm welcome to our new members Kimberly Gonzalez and Jason Colt Schofield.

I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate the following members for their recent certifications: Chef Andreas Proisl, Certified Executive Pastry Chef, and Tyler Field, Certified Executive Chef. Both Chefs work for Isleworth Golf and Country Club. Please join me in congratulating both Chefs for their accomplishment.

Our newly redesigned website is complete!!! Lynda Gail Alfano of Firebrand Strategies has done a phenomenal job in designing the website and making it interesting. The FRLA Show and ACF Culinary Competitions will take place on September 8-10th at the Orange County Convention Center. Chef Steve Jayson, CEC, Show Chairman and his committee has been working hard planning the event so stop by the competition kitchen to cheer on your fellow Culinarians competing in various categories for cash and medal prizes.

Our monthly general meetings will resume on September 19th at MetroWest Golf Club starting at 7:00pm. Address is 2100 South Hiawassee Road, Orlando, FL 23835. We will be accepting nominations for new officers and Board Members for the 2012-2013 term at this meeting as well as the October meeting. The candidates will present their platforms in the November meeting. I highly encourage all members to attend. Your participation in the selection of Officers is very important. Remember, ACF Central Florida Chapter is your organization.

The joint team building event with NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) is postponed until next year.

  1. Congrats to the local Orlando Chefs for creating outstanding cuisine. Sounds like a tasteful event. Anytime you can incorporate food with a golf outing makes for great day in my book. I love when Shingle Creek sets up the food tasting events at the golf course or the wine tasting in Rosen Plaza.
